Happy Memorial Day!

I hope you all had a spectacular Memorial Day and weekend! We spent time with family, grilled a great dinner, swam in the pool, made homemade ice cream, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We are so thankful for all of the many sacrifices that have been made for us by the brave men and women serving in the armed forces. I want to express my deepest sympathies for those fallen soldiers and their families. Let us never forget their bravery, sacrifice, and dedication to this great nation we call home. Honor the veterans in your life and thank them for securing all that we hold dear in this great Land of Liberty.  God Bless You!   ~Christy

p.s. - Lots of projects in the works this week! Lots of pictures coming you way! Lots of new finds at both booth spaces!
p.p.s. - I'll show you what I did with this hot mess :)

Keeping My Head Above Water

Some days it feels like I am barely able to get all the things done that a wife, daycare provider, and mom of three busy kiddos, and four furry kids needs to get done. Throw in trying to keep two booth spaces full, a husband who travels a large portion of the time, mowing and gardening season, and some days all I am able to do is keep my head above water. Is my situation unique? Nope. All my girlfriends are feeling the same overwhelming pull of life's demands. Would I change it? Nope. I tend to thrive on a chaotic schedule. It's all I have known for many years. Do I need a vacation? Yep :) I plan on going to North Carolina in July to see my dear friend Sarah. I can't wait. She is a wonderfully talented lady that I used to share a booth space with. I don't know if I would have had the courage to jump into my business without her leading the way. Check out her blog http://www.outcreatingdesigns.com/ . She does some awesome pieces! Thank you Sarah for your inspiration!
I want to share a dresser and a windsor chair with you today. Somehow in the chaos I forgot to take before pictures, but you will have to trust me that both of these pieces were quite rough. The dresser I painted out in a colonial blue color(oops paint from Home Depot). It is a Martha Stewart paint in an eggshell finish. I brushed on two light coats and still left plenty of the wood showing through. The pulls are awesome wrought iron pieces from Hobby Lobby. I love the end result!
The windsor chair received my standard treatment. Paint it black, distress it, and wax it. Love it! This is a Nichols and Stone windsor that I picked up in Wichita when I went with my good friend Donna to see The Pioneer Woman. It needed to be reglued and given some TLC. I was more than happy to oblige!

They both went to Antiques on The Prairie in beautiful downtown Baldwin City! Come on in and check them out! Hope you have an awesome day!  See you soon.  ~Christy

Where Has The Time Gone?!

Oh my goodness I can not believe it has been almost a month since my last post! I am embarrassed that I have neglected my blog like this. In my defense I truly have been swamped with kids, husband's travels, the wrap-up of the school year, custom projects, my dad's wedding........I could go on and on. I have missed blogging though so here I am to right the wrong! I thought it would be nice to share some booth shots of my Market Antiques space. I wanted to get it super full since there is an awesome flea market there this weekend for any of you locals who might want to trek down to Ottawa and check it out :)

I added lots of lamps that am absolutely in love with! You may want to go see if there is anything a deserving mother in your life might need. Trust me when I say you won't be disappointed! The flea market items out back are awesome!! Have a great day and a wonderful Mother's Day Weekend!  See you soon (no really I mean  it this time)!   ~Christy
